What gets me up in the morning:

My life is dedicated to making a significant positive impact on the planet - it’s physical, creative and spiritual ecology. As an artist, my particular frequency is through music and its integration with everything.

I am told that as a child I exhibited this affinity for sound and music. I am aware that throughout my childhood and into adulthood, I have been totally focused on different types and genres of music. As a professional pianist today, my work ranges from funk gigs with some of the old Earth, Wind & Fire guys, to straight ahead jazz, to experimental classical, to spacial minimalist, to the music I do as part the Agape House Band (Michael Beckwith’s Spiritual Center in Los Angeles).

Woven throughout is this call to bring different people together in unity. Just today, at a rehearsal here at the house, I was saying to Rickie Byars-Beckwith that the model of different people, from entirely different backgrounds, working collectively to create something of excellence - is a model for how it is possible to operate in the world. Not limited to music. Not limited to art. Not limited to anything. It’s totally possible to work this way anywhere, on anything.

It comes down to our willingness to allow. Our willingness to let go of our personal control - which, as it turns out, isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

It’s like the project that I’ve just released that is sort of like Keith Jarrett meeting Claude Monet. I couldn’t do this all by myself - unlike most everything I’ve ever done before. I needed to entrust the quality and excellence of the project to other people, or it would not happen or be the medicine it has the capability to be in the world. I think that this lesson is key for us all, in these times when we are so empowered by technology to ‘do it all ourselves.’ That just because we can, does not mean that we should…

In any case, it is my pleasure to be a part of this community, and I look forward to making connections that act as amplifiers of the greatest good.
